I have worked in the area of enterprise learning and development since 1992, and began implementing online learning solutions starting in 1998. I've held director-level positions in training for two companies with sales of $1 billion and $5 billion. From those experiences, I've learned that to be effective, learning practitioners for large organizations need to develop expertise in developing effective learning strategy, blending learning technology, implementing communication and marketing tactics, and fostering a learning culture. Yet much more importantly, you must develop a partnership relationship with the business leaders so you can most effectively align your efforts with the business strategy.
